KINGS launched on to the New Zealand music scene with a boom! His first official release ‘Promise To You’, a collaboration with General Lee, was chosen to be on the Ministry of Sound SessioNZ 2013. After writing the track and singing the vocals, Kings then played it to his good friend Lee and together they carved it into a huge dancefloor anthem that caught the attention of Ministry of Sound.
Kings has since collaborated with a number of other DJ’s including, BulletProof, Dan Aux, Jolyon Petch (Club Luxury), eSquire Uk, Crazi Biza, Dick Johnson (Weird Together & MEDZ). He has also had the privilege to produce for artists such as Jason Kerrison (Op Shop) and more. 2015 was another successful year for Kings, having received NZ ON AIR funding for his debut single ‘Jump’, he also released a collaboration project, A^K, with Dan Aux. The pair released their single ‘Sippin Yak’ which became a huge hit, passing into a recurrent status with local radio. Kings next collaboration with General Lee, ‘Everything’s Going To Be Alright’, saw him once again back in the limelight and it lead to performing at Bluesky Mana Island, Road to Rhythm and Vines, Rhythm and Vines mainstage and the Rhythm and Vines Supertop. Whilst at Bluesky Mana Island Kings shot an impromptu music video using nothing but his iPhone to accompany his single ‘Don’t Worry About It’. The song first grew a fan base at George FM before then skyrocketing to success across the board. The track has now gone Gold and spent over eight weeks as the #1 New Zealand song in the country. Locally, Kings is well known among music circles in Auckland’s North Shore, where his studio and record label Arch Angel Records is based. Kings has been producing music for the past 6 years and his production skill set also includes composing for film scores and commercials all over the world. With a variety of production and song writing skills gained over the years, Kings has now turned these all to his own artistry and what looks to be an exciting future as a recording artist in his own right. |
